On this day, Tuesday, January 20, 2009, people around the world are tuned to the scene in Washington, D.C. where in just a few hours, Barack Obama will take the oath of office and become the 44th President of the United States of America. He is bringing a large measure of hope with him to the country’s top executive office, and his patent style, his courage, and his intellect are among the qualities I have come to admire the most in the man, the senator, and now, the president-elect.
Success played out in Mr. Obama’s campaign at a time when I personally was being inspired on many fronts. Creating positive change in the world around me was a theme that ignited before 2008’s holiday season, and during the days that followed, I thought a lot about the ways I could connect with it more meaningfully through my work Until now, this blog has been named MarSciTechtainment. When I posted its first entry in June of 2005, I did so experimentally, pursuing an interest in providing visitors with more information about myself and my professional practice. Over the years it has grown into an important communications tool and endeavor for me. So much so, in fact, that the idea I am embracing today to expand its mission in more of the directions I aspire to, is itself an inspiration.
Marketing, science, technology, and entertainment still factor largely into my personal and business interests, but on my best days, there is a higher order enlightening my perspective; moving forward, I will think of that as the Universal Positive.
