As the principals of design-focused production studio Leviathan begin their fourth year in business together, their impacts are growing in virtually every dimension. While the montage featured here and at www.lvthn.com presents most of their latest large-scale visual experiences crossing all media, many new achievements are currently in the works as well.
At each new turn, projects like these for The North Face and Callaway via Factory Design Labs, for Kelley Blue Book via Doner, for Western Digital via R&R Partners, for Dodge via Union AdWorks, for HP via Designkitchen, and for musical artists Amon Tobin, Skrillex and others are leading in new directions.
Among many examples of this phenomenon from 2012, the judges of Detroit’s prestigious D Show awarded the Dodge Dart project the “D” Award in Special Effects for Non-Commercial projects… and Amon Tobin’s “ISAM LIVE” was honored in Communication Arts’ Interactive Annual, it was named among “The Best of 2012” by the editors at Digital Arts, and it brought Leviathan the FITC Best Animation Award at this year’s FITC Toronto Design and Technology Festival. Meanwhile, also in the past two years, the studio has brought home the Themed Entertainment Association’s award for “Ingenious Use of Technology,” the Platinum Remi Award for Visual/Special Effects from the 46th WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival, and shortlist honors from the One Club and the AICP. Spanning all of these venues and competitions representing the world’s most accomplished artisanship, Leviathan is forging a unique reputation for creating futuristic visual experiences.
