World Oceans Day: Let’s protect our home

World Oceans Day has been celebrating the ocean on 8 June every year since 2002. The need for protective action for the ocean has never been greater.

For people everywhere, in one way or another, the ocean connects us all. World Oceans Day formally unites and rallies each of us to protect and restore our precious shared ocean. Specifically, the Conservation Action Focus is on the protection of 30% of the Earth’s land and ocean by the year 2030. This growing collaborative conservation empowered by the World Oceans Day Youth Advisory Council unites a global network of leaders in 140 countries, providing resources for all to take action to restore and protect the ocean.

Please visit http://WorldOceansDay.org to: make tax-deductible contributions; sign the online petition to protect 30% of the ocean by 2030; find events – or plan your own and get it listed; download resources; connect on social media; and learn more.
