Bravery from Brand New School and Antidote rewarded…

When Antidote (www.antidote.co.uk) was approached by Diesel founder Renzo Rosso to create a call-to-arms to inspire and mobilize the world’s youth to join the fight to help end extreme poverty in Africa and around the world, Antidote’s creatives wrote a manifesto for The Only The Brave Foundation and approached Brand New School to create a short, powerful animated film. In his treatment, BNS founder and executive creative director Jonathan Notaro proposed the unique storytelling approach that helps the foundation deliver its message in style in the finished production. Visual poetry 1-2-3 punch from Shilo

Every day, the official Vimeo account for creative production company Shilo averages over 450 plays from fans, respected artists and leading creative people worldwide. Some of the work you’ll find there is extremely well known, while I’m sure you’ll be surprised by other featured projects. Today it’s my pleasure to share three videos that have factored largely into Shilo’s success to-date. First, above, behold Guinness “Spoken Word,” the quintessential Shilo commercial achievement created in 2008 in conjunction with Saatchi & Saatchi in London and Mark Hanrahan. This film directed by Andre Stringer has inspired new legions of fans for Shilo worldwide. Can you believe it was passed over by virtually every major awards show in 2009?

Among many people I’m thankful for, my big brother Scott

We’re taking off to go spend some quality time with our families in the St. Louis and Milwaukee areas over the days ahead, and I thought I’d make a quick nod to one of the people I’m most thankful for, my big brother, Scott Darnell. Scott and his partner David Gotter established a company in 2003 named Further OPTIONS, as a developer of innovative mobility systems for wheelchair-bound individuals. After debuting its first product at the 2006 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, the company’s Patent-pending DMS-4 was unveiled at the 2009 National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association Annual Conference, where it was honored by NMEDA and the Adaptive Driving Alliance with their 2009 New Technology Award for Innovation in Engineering and Technology for the physically challenged.
